Our story
The Suška-Shameti Foundation was established in 2013 with the aim of supporting the creation and presentation of artists, creating programs for the public aimed at understanding and education in the field of contemporary art in the Czech Republic.
The foundation's establishment was preceded by a twelve-year period of activity of the Bubec civic association, which operates an art studio of the same name in Řeporyje, Prague. The founders, Arjana Shameti and Čestmír Suška, in cooperation with other artists, friends and inhabitants of Řeporyje, built the now well-known studio with artists from the Czech Republic and abroad.
In addition to established artists, students of art schools and experienced teachers develop aesthetic education of children and youth.
The founders were convinced that it was advisable to separate the operation of a cultural and community centre with a varied programme from raising funds to support the visual arts and their distribution to needy and talented artists. The founders' intention is to create a group of patrons that funds the development of contemporary art and, in close collaboration with the Bubec team, ops enables Czech artists to work in a modern studio alongside artists who come to the studio for residencies from all over the world.

About us
Thanks to intensive contacts with art collectors, patrons, artists and businessmen who decided to support the Foundation's activities, it was possible to renovate the studio building and establish a collection of contemporary art.
With the funds raised, the founders intend to spread cultural values and support young artists, for example through scholarships at the Bubec studio and other projects↑ Arjana Shameti at school
